- Anthony Welch Leadership Lessons from the FrontlineSpending time on the floor with your team is one of the best ways to learn as a leader. Seeing operations up close and hearing directly from those doing the work inspires ideas and builds trust. - Nagarajan Ravishankar Operational success isn’t just about efficiency—it’s about leadership and smart strategy.True thought leadership in operations means constantly innovating, anticipating change, and leading teams with agility. It’s about turning operational challenges into opportunities for growth and transformation. When combined with strong business acumen, leaders don’t just manage; they make strategic decisions that position their organizations for sustainable success. They leverage data, understand market trends, and make informed choices that benefit both the business and its customers. For example, Toyota has long been a global leader in operational excellence with its lean manufacturing and just-in-time production. This approach has set industry standards for efficiency and adaptability, allowing Toyota to maintain high quality while minimizing waste. Similarly, Amazon has revolutionized supply chain management through data-driven decisions, continuously optimizing to meet evolving customer demands.Leaders who merge operational expertise with strategic vision create lasting impact and drive innovation.#ThoughtLeadership #BusinessAcumen #OperationalLeadership #LeanManagement #ToyotaExcellence #SupplyChainInnovation #LeadershipInAction #StrategicOperations #DataDrivenStrategy #GrowthLeadership 81 3 Comments

- Horacio Portillo So what is the role of a Vice President of Transformation and Continuous Improvement at Modern Candle Co IncThe role is pivotal in shaping our organization’s future success; by closely examining our current processes, systems, and organizational structures, we propose improvements:These recommendations encompass process enhancements, technology adoption, and organizational adjustments. Out of one of those analysis the need to regain some of our warehouse space and control cost lead us to Packsize cool machines.I am excited to share how our ability to create custom shipping boxes is transforming our operations. Here’s why it matters:Cost Elimination:By producing our own shippers, we eliminate the need to purchase expensive corrugated boxes. This directly reduces our carrying costs and positively impacts our bottom line.Agility Amplified:Custom shippers empower us with flexibility and responsiveness. We can swiftly adapt to changing demands, product variations, and shipping requirements.Competitive Edge:Our nimbleness translates into a competitive advantage. In summary, our investment in custom shippers isn’t just about boxes—it’s about efficiency, adaptability, and staying ahead in the market.Let me know how we can help you in your home fragrance needs or if you just have questions on continuous improvements.PS. I might need a better technician that guy Arvin Pirijanian is just too slow.#packsize #candle #candlemanufacturer 12 1 Comment

- Rob McPherson Just remember. You can't fairly compare the revenue numbers for a supplier vs. a manufacturer vs. a retailer. The value chain and resultant margin-takes and price increases make them non-comparable.What you look at is the revenue trend, the cogs trend, the gross profit trend, the opex trend and the IFO trend. But, to think a retailer is "bigger" and somehow better, because their revenues are higher, is to ignore the value chain. 4 1 Comment

- Martin Smith As a rule I never talk about projects I’m facilitating. My response regardless of who asks me is to tell them the phase the project is in and the contact info of the project leader and here’s why:1. I don’t ever want my team leaders, core team members, SME…(the folks doing the day to day heavy lifting) to think I’m taking credit for their work. I follow the principle of “respect for every individual”.2.I’m not always involved in the day to day and consequently I don’t always have the latest most up to date information. I’ve seen plenty of Masters who miscommunicated something because they did have the up to the minute info. 3. I want my team leaders to get visibility. I want them to get more recognition and to get rewarded for their work. If they are visible we all win. This has served me well throughout my career. It builds trust with your fellow team members and that encourages them to trust each other and to do more productive initiatives. 11 1 Comment
- Michelle Schnurr Moving away from the Just-in-Time strategy is a seismic, but not surprising, shift across supply chain not just for production and manufacturing, but for downstream retailers as well. 6

- Jason Katz It's remarkable how a few days away can recalibrate your entire perspective. This week I've gained: Reflection. Insight. Clarity. And I've left behind: Fear. Anxiety. Self-doubt.I realized years ago that my professional challenges stem from one thing: resistance to presence. Fear. Ego. And of course these last few days have re-cemented that, again and again. It's always the answer that matters, the only answer really. When you trust yourself and stay rooted in the now, everything changes. Productivity skyrockets. Relationships deepen. Success compounds. It's a simple truth, yet so easy to forget in our always-on world. Solve the problem in front of you, and tomorrow's answer will reveal itself. So here's your reminder (and mine): Be present. Seek to understand. Trust yourself. This is the path to purposeful work and meaningful contribution.Time off isn't just rest. It's revolution.#Mindfulness #Leadership #WorkLifeBalance 19 1 Comment
- Andrew Dickow General Mills is exploring a sale of its North American yogurt business, including its popular Yoplait brand in a deal that could be worth more than $2 billion. As I have discussed throughout the year, there is a continuing trend of large CPG companies divesting non-core assets. However, this story is unfortunate because it was avoidable, and I watched it unfold right before my eyes. I started my nearly ten-year career at General Mills in 2006, the following year, Chobani entered the market. In the early years, when Chobani was just a blip on the radar, young and hungry employees were sounding the alarm about the new player in the category and how they believed Yoplait needed to respond aggressively with its own line of high protein/Greek products to compete with Chobani. General Mills had a significant market share and dominated in the category at the time. If the company had invested in competitive products and leveraged its scale, it likely would still have a thriving North American business. However, it did the exact opposite. The old guard within the company saw Greek yogurt as a fad and not a sustainable trend. The company refused to invest in new capabilities and facilities required to make competitive products. As a result, Chobani and others decimated the business segment. It was too late when it tried to play catch up. This collapse is a clear example of where industry veterans needed to evolve and didn’t. As a result, Yoplait, a brand that once dominated the sector, is now left to the highest bidder who wants to take a chance on revitalizing the flailing brand.#FoodandBeverage #CPG #MarketTrends #BusinessStrategyhttps://lnkd.in/g2RHKrih 18 1 Comment

- Heidi Seaman As a leader I have leaned that having crucial conversations are necessary in coaching my team, however, with some direct reports this can be perceived as an end result vs a “restart” if you will. Introducing and implementing a coaching culture that allows for these moments to be received as a moment of positive progress vs negative result, has been successful most of the time in my experience. My goal as I continue in my servant leader role is to continue to drive this and hope to help myself and my team be more productive. What is your experience with changing your culture to implement coachings as a positive drive toward the “W”? 27 5 Comments
- Sandesh Siddaramanna The Unintended Brand Ambassadors: A Case Study on Toyota’s Resilience. When Your Brand Speaks Louder Than You IntendImagine this: back in 2015, the U.S. Treasury asked Toyota a bizarre question"Why are so many of your trucks showing up in ISIS videos?"Toyota replied honestly:"We don’t control the second-hand market."Fair enough, right? But this situation holds a deeper lesson.Think about it: even in the most extreme, unimaginable scenarios, Toyota trucks were the trusted choice. Not because Toyota marketed to terrorists (obviously not!) but because their vehicles are known worldwide for being tough, reliable, and built to last. This isn’t just a story about branding—it’s about how your product can take on a life of its own. Toyota’s reputation was so solid that it spoke for itself, even in ways the company couldn’t control. And here’s the kicker: this wasn’t a failure of Toyota’s branding—it was proof of its success. When your product is that good, it reaches places (and people) you never expected. So, what’s the takeaway for all of us?A brand isn’t just about what you say it is. It’s about what it does in the real world. Build something so reliable, so valuable, that it creates trust in places you never imagined. Now, here’s a question:If your product or service ended up in someone else’s story, would it still stand for quality, reliability, and value?Let’s talk about it #automotiveindustry #branding #marketing #management #leadership #success 6
