Eight teams competed in Thursday’s NCAA gymnastics semifinals: LSU, Oklahoma, Florida, Utah, UCLA, Missouri, Michigan State and Alabama. LSU, the No. 1 seed and defending champion, along with Florida (No. 3), Michigan State (No. 8) and Alabama (No. 11) were eliminated, leaving Oklahoma, Utah, UCLA and Missouri to compete in the Saturday Championship Final. This marks the first time Mizzou has qualified for the finals in the program’s history.

After the two semifinals on April 17, the all-around and individual event champions were crowned. The five individual national champions were Oklahoma’s Jordan Bowers for all-around, LSU’s Kailin Chio for vault, UCLA’s Jordan Chiles for bars, Missouri’s Helen Hu for beam and UCLA’s Brooklyn Moors for floor.
